“EMBATTLED AGED WOMAN IN TOTAL PENURY TURMOIL”.
Akara Josephine also known as Mama Florence of Abirici cell, Onzivu ward, Ayivu division, Arua city, Uganda. is an embattled elderly grandmother who lives in isolation with her grand children whose parents are late.
Her only surviving child flee from home, leaving behind a less than three month old baby for the old woman to look after, coupled with the other four children left behind for her to raise.
The vulnerable old woman who has no source of income for survival, is always on the threads forging for a way for survival despite her old age.
She wakes up every morning sighting the graves at the back yard as the only descendants on her side. According to her, there times she wishes life is never part of her with the hurdle before her, conceding to challenges.
Honey stream ministries (NGO) visited her home, what eyes saw at the site, are difficult to comprehend on without tears rolling, its un imaginable that a human being is able to survive under such abject povert.
As an organization, our core values being, restoring dignity in people, enlighten hope in times of jittery, we offered to support her and we would like to reach out to every one out there to offer any kind of support to support Mama Florence because we believe every one deserves to live better with bright smiles. Every child deserves to go to school to be a better citizen tomorrow, her grand children would wish to be in school but lack of finance has kept them home, any support of putting them through school would have made more better citizens for a better world tomorrow.
